Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1 revealed; first video shown

Earlier today, Sega revealed that its next Sonic game, which was formerly known as Project Needlemouse, would be a PlayStation Network, WiiWare, and Xbox Live Arcade release called Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1. The renamed title's debut trailer, with first gameplay footage, is shown here. Additionally, the game's website has opened, with numerous countdowns shown promising new game information on Friday, new characters revealed on February 9, and new multimedia for the game on February 18. The site also promises that the game will come out in Summer 2010 and teases an additional platform release for the game, as the site proclaims that it is coming to each of the three console downloadable services "and ???"
